Semi-Portable Systems: It is a system consisting of pumping unit and portable laterals where the main pipes are buried in the ground. Semi-portable sprinkler irrigation system is used the most in the world. It is especially used in field agriculture, irrigation of meadows, pastures, vegetable and fruit gardens.

Non-Portable Systems: In the system where the pumping unit, main pipes and laterals are fixed, the main pipes and laterals are buried under the ground and are not moved in any way. Non-portable systems are used extensively in citrus fruits, orchards and meadows.
